Draught @ CBC’14
Aroma is peppery and spicy with some roasted tones. Flavour is rather spicy with some jalopeno-like vegetables and some cocoa tones. Peppery and nice but I expected more. Actually this feels rather thin – but I had two Hunahpu’s and one Dark Lord before this...

Growler thanks to Ilya! Pours a cloudy gold and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of wheat with a light lemony tartness with a hint of blue cheese. Flavor combine tart lemon and wheat bit has a bit of an over powering blue cheese note as well as a bit of yogurt.

On tap at Wilderness pours with a deep dark looking body that supports a light mocha colored head. The aroma offers up big dark roastiness, some burnt malts, dark chocolate, molasses covered coconut and smooth sweet candy like booze. In the background I get some earthy chili meat mixed with a malt and a molasses sweetened smoky note. The taste begins with dark roasted malts and then hitting burnt malt notes mixed with dark chocolate and then a nice earthy chili pepper note laced with mild smokiness. It then gets into nectar sweetness midway as the dark roasted malts and molasses mingle with earthy chili pepper smokiness. Nice! I love the earthy smoked chili peppers here as the note is rich yet at just the right level to enjoy everything else that’s going on around it.

Pours with a dark mahogany body that has a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, caramel malts, a bit of nuttiness and then a dash of burnt malts. The taste has big dark roasted malt notes mixed with a slight burnt malt note, faint chocolate and caramel like malts. There is a bit of spiciness floating around in there back in the background but I’m not able to pin a descriptor to it. Nice roasty forward Porter.

It pours with a nearly totally opaque deep gold body that supports an off white head. The aroma has a good deal of malt and fruit nuanced funkiness, a pear candy fruitiness and then salty notes. Oddly inviting aroma. The taste has a funky salty saltine cracker to biscuit like mixture that is grounded in modest pear like fruitiness. It quickly drives right into a more saltiness that has just the right punch before little rivers of lemon tartness are noticed. Solid intriguing refreshing brew. Wilderness is lining up some stellar hot weather brews in their arsenal. Wow.

9.1/10 Appearance 8 Aroma 9 Flavor 10 Texture 8 Overall 9.5
Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/7/14, Rating #3500!

Aroma: The aroma is a wonderful mix of grapefruit, mango, citrus, pine, and resiny hops
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear golden-orange color with a small off-white head and nice lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same, big and hoppy, juicy, and just the right amount of sweetness
Palate: The body is medium-full, it has a soft feel, a clean drinkability, and a nice, dry finish
Overall Impression: Totally lives up to the hype. This is an excellent beer. Absolutely loved it. Somehow this is super hoppy and yet balanced enough if your a little hops afraid. This is right up there with my personal favorite beers I have ever tried. I didn't want to leave a sip over, it was that good. If this was anywhere near me I would drink it all the time.

Aroma: It has a big west coast hop aroma of pine/resin, juicy citrus/grapefruit, and some grass
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color with a mid-sized head and lace on it
Flavor: The taste is right on-style, big hop bitterness, citrus/grapefruit, just dank and yummy
Palate: The body is medium-plus, it has a clean, smooth feel, and a long, dry finish
Overall Impression: Excellent example of a west-coast style IPA. It has a really nice aroma and an even better flavor. I really enjoyed this.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/7/14

Aroma: The aroma is sourdough bread, vinegar, some tart berries, and a little citrus
Appearance: The pour is dark reddish-brown, unclear, with a small beige head
Flavor: Tastes much the same, but not quite as strong vinegar, sourdough, spice, and fruit
Palate: The body is medium, it has a funky feel, tart, mouth-puckering, vingerary finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was an interesting one. I'm not the biggest vinegar fan, and at first I was worried it was too much vinegar for me, but it kind of grew on me. Definitely interesting.
