Canned at SBWF. Hazy amber, small head. Fruity caramelly nose. Sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Diluted caramel and ripe apples. Simplistic.

On tap. Pours a clear mahogany with little head. Aromas of oak and port. Flavors of same with vanilla light yeast/Brett and tart apples. Ok for a mild sour. Saison?

Can shapes glass at the brewery. Cloudy amber color, clear. Mild aroma of smoke, very clean then comes a hop-centric beer. Similar, in flavor. I like the smoke component but everything else was fine but dull. Would have preferred less hops.

2014-08-22, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 6-4-5-2-11=28
Hazy dark red and amber color. The aroma has some components of Red Flemish ales, but also light chemicals, and alcohol. Good body strength, too much carbonation, too much alcohol, and mild but distinctive acetone note; it has some fruity touch and acidity.
Rather messy example, not very pleasant.

Cloudy amber color. Sour aroma, a bit footy. Quite sweet, a bit fruity, mildly sour, but without the character of a real Flemish beer, and with a light but disturbing footy/yeasty note. Lightly herbal final, rosemary.
Chaotic, off target.

Can at SBWF2014. Clear amber color, small white head. Light tea and honey in the nose. Light-bodied. Light honey, a bit harsh. Lager-like and bulkish.

Tap at SBWF2014. Deep ruby color, small white head. Aroma has bourbon, tartness and caramel. Medium-bodied. Fruity maltyness, berrirs, bourbon and tartness in the flavor. Odd.

Draught@SBWF2014. Ambery/pale coppery colour with a small white head. Aroma is glue, some alcohol, barrel and mild cookies as well as cinnamon to it as well. Flavour is gingerbready, some alcohol, nice wooden notes as well as some slight sweet bready and toffeeish notes. Very tasty and drinkable, after getting over the first aroma/flavour shock.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 14oz
Cloudy dark amber color with small head. This beer has a sharp vinous character, not the typical Saison profile; the bourbon/gin barrel aging adds a boozy touch, dish product, rosemary; more gin than bourbon anyway; it has a moderate sourness. It also has a very light yeasty/footy impression.
Quite pedestrian (if you get the pun).

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a hazy golden orange with a small beige head. Nose brings out very light white wine barrels, some oak and a little yeast. Flavour is quite astringent, with white wine, oak and a strong hoppy astringency that lingers on and on. Kind of strange that there is so much astringency in this. Decent beer.
