On gravity at Swindon BF 30/10/08. Pale copper coloured with a slight white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel, citrus hops and some yeasty earthiness. The flavour was a fine balance between biscuit malts, citrus fruit and spice, before a decent bitter finish. An excellent bitter.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 7 Aug 2008) Black colour with ruby hints, brief pale brown head. Fruity, roasted nose with notes of raisins, prunes and hints of port. Fruity, roasted taste with wild berries, chocolate, port and a moderate bittersweet finish. Yummy! Very nice beer. Rerate: (Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 19 April 2012) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of coffee, dried fruit and dark rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dried fruit, raisins, dark chocolate and dark rye bread. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness and a generous roasty bitterness. Still yummy, and the numbers are exactly the same.
