Clear golden. Disturbingly neutral aroma. Sweet and reasonably malty. There’s a vague hint of the dense, near dusty malt character that I find so attractive in the best pale bocks. This is very light flavourwise.

Deep copper, with an inch head. Sweetish, with a bit of metallic taste. Kinda citrusy, but not overly- a nice beer, but nothing extraordinary. Had it on tap in California at the brewery.

Some beers are bland, others are mediocre. This one is simply shameful. The clear copper red body was somewhat promising, but the flavor is cheap and adjuncty, reminiscent of the rice syrup homebrewers use to brew malt liqours. Sugary and that's about it. A lame effort and a lame brewer.

Bottle. Dark amber color with a billowing off-white head. Aroma is of sweet malt and grassy hops. Clean taste with a slight caramel sweetness followerd by a little bitterness. Not a lot going on, but it's not bad.

Boring. Flavor is weaker than some macroswill. Just a touch of malt biscuit in the aroma and flavor, finishing with bitter hops. The definition of lameness. A poem, anyone?

On draught at the brewpub. This beer is a dark ruby-brown color with a medium thick and foamy light beige head. Thin lacing. Malt aroma is very pronounced, and there is some caramel as well. Creamy (if slightly thin) body with a fair amount of malt flavor, along with some chcolate and caramel. There was also a bit of a smokey character to it which was a bit of a surprise. The finish is mostly sweet malt, with a pinch of hops. This is one of Gordon Biersch's better offerings in my opinion.

Clear golden coloured body with a super thin white head. Aroma of bitter malts, some metal scent and some slight sugars. Medium to light-bodied; Sweet malts in the taste with some metal and astringent bitterness. Aftertaste shows only a bit of the malt and some clean characteristics. Overall, a decent beer, but more tastes should be added! I was lucky enough to get this twelve ounce bottle from Haddon90 (Phil) from which he purchased from Costco in San Ramon, California. I sampled this on on 25-November-2003-Cheers Phil!
