Description
Tutts Clump Cider is a family business that was set up in 2006 by Tim Wale. Tim (who is an Agricultural/Motor Engineer by trade) was born in the hamlet of Tutts Clump, West Berkshire in 1957 and still lives there. Tim is assisted by his wife and five daughters - two of whom are full time.

Cider making started as a hobby with production of some 25 litres. By 2013 we were using around 90 tonnes of home counties grown apples and crafting some 60,000 litres of Proper Cider which is increasing year on year (71,000 litres in 2019). We do not filter, pasturise or carbonate our products and the only additives are sucralose and sulphites in small quantities. We do everything in house and package in bottles, cans, bag in box, pouches, casks and kegs.

Polycask@Reading Beer Festival 2012 (as Oldbury Dry Cider, 5.5 %). Hazy pale yellow colour, with not too much head. Aroma is apples, some toffee, mild spices and vanilla. Flavour is apples, yeast, earth, some spices and mild tartness. Aroma was rather promising, but the flavour is just too mild of the elements. Quite watery palate.

Bottle from Cobbs Farm Shop, Near Froxfield, West Berkshire 31.01.12 consumed the same day Pours warm gold with good clarity just throwing a slight haze. I thought that it smelt smokey at first but then I realised that it was the fire, god knows what Loz has bunged on it. Tangy and yet soft but with a lingering tartness. A little apple skin and slight nuttiness, another great cider from Tutts Clump. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle from Cobbs Farm Shop, Near Froxfield, West Berkshire 31.01.12 consumed the same day Pours very light gold/almost green, great clarity, flat. The aroma is fresh and the sweet eating appleyness shows. Juicy with wonderful sweet fruitiness, its more on the medium side of dry but there is a good tartness there. Really like this and impressed that it is in a 275ml bottle which is a sensible size. Great stuff. A6 A5 T8 P4 Ov14 3.7
