Cider making started as a hobby with production of some 25 litres. By 2013 we were using around 90 tonnes of home counties grown apples and crafting some 60,000 litres of Proper Cider which is increasing year on year (71,000 litres in 2019). We do not filter, pasturise or carbonate our products and the only additives are sucralose and sulphites in small quantities. We do everything in house and package in bottles, cans, bag in box, pouches, casks and kegs.

Bottle from the farm shop at Hare Hatch Garden Centre near Twyford. First from this producer. Pours a pinky-orange with an obvious fizz. Fruity aroma has ominous overtones of nail varnish remover. The acetone dominates the taste with tart rhubarb and sweet orange struggling to show up against it. Grim, couldn't finish it. I normally like rhubarb ciders, but this is a rare exception. Maybe there was something wrong with this bottle, but you have to rate 'em as you find 'em.

Bottle from Wellington Farm Shop which is located somewhere between where I stand and Aldermaston. Aroma has a sweetness alongside sour juice. Clear amber gold. No head. Dry. Sour juice plus tannin. Underlying sugary juice is not intrusive. Light. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Pleasant medium-dry cider.

500ml bottle from Sandy Balls Holiday Village. Pours a clear deep pink. Aroma of dark fruit syrup. Tangy introduction on the palate, breezy sharp apple fruit with moderate dark fruit flavouring. There are other sweeter, more syrupy offerings out there, this isn't too bad.
