Cask, gravity dispense at Woodford Beer Festival at The Duke, Woodford, Northants, 25-05-07. Poured a warm golden colour. This was a really tasty bitter, good hoppiness, refreshing and very drinkable would have happily had a few of these.

Cask at GBBF 2006. A yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of honey, and the flavor is sweet malty with a sticky honey end.

Bottle, from the Little Beer Shop, Ludlow, Salop, 10-03-07. Poured a wonderful pinky red colour with a large white head. Nice fruity nose, taste was a really good, crisp, and with a slightly sour taste, quite pleased to find that it wasn’t artificially sweet, tasted like a good wheat beer, really enjoyed this.

Bottle, 75cl corked, thx to Enjoyit. While last bottle was a good one, this had done some effort to be undrinkable. It looked nice, a dark brown beer, almost clear, with a small, tan to beige head. Quite oily pour. The aroma was the best part, but for someone disliking oxidation, it wouldn’t be nice at all. The beer was roasted, but an oxidized, almost sherry-like aroma dominated. In the mouth it felt more sour than oxidized, but the oxidation was very evident, leaving some roasted flavors in the background. Full-bodied and unfortunately slightly astringent. Yes, it’s drinkable, but the bottle I tried last time was a completely different story. Too bad. Rating: 6-4-4-3-9-2.8. Leaving my old rating as the valid one.

Bottled, 75cl with champagne cork. A clear-looking dark reddish brown beer with a nice tan head. It has lots of chocolate and cocoa in the aroma, as well as roasted malt. Some sourness, roasted malt and some dark chocolate and burnt notes in the flavor. Dusty, dryish mouthfeel, but a bit too watery. The beer starts very good, the aroma can be enjoyed for a long time, but sadly it’s downwards from there. A quite nice beer anyway. (070213)

Bottle, 6.2%. Roasted aroma, a bit sweet. Almost black colour, a little muddy. The flavour is a little sour and has some of the cardboard notes I usually associate with certain homebrewed beers.

Half pint at The Fat Cat in Ipswich. Amber coloured. Missing head. Fruity notes come through in a weak aroma. Flavour has accent of raisin and dried fruits. Some hoppy hints can be detected. Dry finish. Standard kind of English bitter (22.09.2006).

Half on gravity at the Fat Cat in Ipswich. Clear goden. Small ring layer. Very light hoppy aroma. Well rounded fruity and hoppy flavour - citrus fruits (succulent oranges and grapefruit). Refreshing, but not more than average for a blond ale (22.09.2006).
