Bottle. Cloudy golden beer with a strong white head. The aroma is sickly, cheesey and bitter, and the flavour is gently bitter and slightly sour fruit. Overall a poor beer, the aroma is very off putting.

Bottle, 75cl corked, thx to Enjoyit. While last bottle was a good one, this had done some effort to be undrinkable. It looked nice, a dark brown beer, almost clear, with a small, tan to beige head. Quite oily pour. The aroma was the best part, but for someone disliking oxidation, it wouldn’t be nice at all. The beer was roasted, but an oxidized, almost sherry-like aroma dominated. In the mouth it felt more sour than oxidized, but the oxidation was very evident, leaving some roasted flavors in the background. Full-bodied and unfortunately slightly astringent. Yes, it’s drinkable, but the bottle I tried last time was a completely different story. Too bad. Rating: 6-4-4-3-9-2.8. Leaving my old rating as the valid one.

Bottled, 75cl with champagne cork. A clear-looking dark reddish brown beer with a nice tan head. It has lots of chocolate and cocoa in the aroma, as well as roasted malt. Some sourness, roasted malt and some dark chocolate and burnt notes in the flavor. Dusty, dryish mouthfeel, but a bit too watery. The beer starts very good, the aroma can be enjoyed for a long time, but sadly it’s downwards from there. A quite nice beer anyway. (070213)

Bottle. Dark blackish brown beer with a very light and fizzy head. The aroma is deeply coffee, and the flavour is very, very, very dry with probably some honey and a bit of creaminess but it is overcome by the dryness. Overall probably a good beer but I just don’t know, at this time I will give it the benefit of the doubt.

Bottle. Still golden beer with a light head. The aroma is sweet and fruity, and the flavour is quite weak with a slightly citric fruitiness. Overall a below average beer.

Medium light brown head. Barely translucent dark brown, seemingly black, body with carbonation. Sweet, oily sugary aroma of licorice; powerful, yet harmonic and balanced. Light, burnt wooden caramel taste, somewhat dry and acidic. A bit watery, like so many English microbrews. Grainy caramel aftertaste. Interesting, but not great. (0.75l bottle. Cask@Burton 12th Winter Beer Festival. Black beer with a light head. The aroma is lightly roasted and the flavour is weakly roasted and watery. Overall a gentle roasted, bitter and coffee beer.
