Got in a BIF from jdell15. 12 ounce can into dimpled mug, canned on 8/14/2017. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy cream colored head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big brown sugar, brown bread crust, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light caramel/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity of bready malts and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big brown sugar, brown bread crust, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light caramel/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of brown sugar, brown bread crust, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, light caramel/pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity and robustness of bready malts and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from bitterness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an outstanding Marzen! All around awesome complexity and robustness of bready malts and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter finish. Very rich and complex Munich/Vienna malt character, just enough hop presence to balance the sweetness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Got in a BIF from jdell15. 12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 8/16/2017. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Aromas of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of vanilla, smoke, herbal, and roast toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, and lactose notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with light notes of vanilla, smoke, herbal, and roast toasted earthiness. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and slightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is good. Feels very thin for some reason, but not watery. On tap at Pepperfire. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces slightly. Aroma has a nice grass note with straw and hay supporting. Flavor has grass, straw and hay with a bit of a crisp finish.

Rachel brought this one back from a trip. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a bright golden color with lots of chunks and floaters and an enormous soapy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. He aroma was musky and a bit funky with notes of bubblegum, yeast and herbal hops. The flavor was bitter, dryish and astringent with yeast, strong mustiness and earthy and floral hops. Long finish. Medium body. Not good
