Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of tan head that lingers. Hershey’s chocolate milk nose. Light coffee aromas. Milky mocha drink on the palate. Tons of creamy milk chocolate lingers. Really great low abv stout. --- Beer merged from original tick of Gotta Get Up To Get Down on 11 Jul 2017 at 19:42 - Score: 8. Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear, glowing gold with a full finger of fluffy head that lingers a bit. Floral nose with lots of grapefruit and tangerine. Light and crushable, overripe orange juice. I like it, but maybe gets a tad cloying towards the end. Still a fun beer and great for summer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Special on 10 Jul 2017 at 20:02 - Score: 7. Label’s turned up to 10, beer’s turned up to, I don’t know, 6-ish? Mostly a grapefruit beer, with very subtle lacto notes and a mild tequila boost to the finish. Tart but not overly so, the sourness primarily coming across as carbonated grapefruit juice rather than anything Belgian-inspired. Clingy, yeasty finished touched with liquor, but overall the idea’s a lot better than the brew. Pours a pink-tinged gold with a fizzy head that disappears quickly. Grapefruit on the nose, with some tequila as well, more than shows up in the beer. Palate feels slack, not Belgian in the slightest. Eh.

Can from Kroger, Cookeville, Tennessee. Pale golden and quite active in the palate. It’s not overly stated as a pilsner, but not very tasty either.

Can from Kroger, Cookeville, Tennessee. Amber with a small head. Extremely strong tasting, its fruitiness is subdued by this, although is evident.

Can from Kroger, Cookeville, Tennessee. Golden with a small head. Has a strength, but maintains a very good tropical fruitiness and IPA styling, with pineapple offering up some flavour, and grapefruit a citrus bittering.

More like a hoppy wheat (or wit) than a Belgian IPA. Mostly haystack sweetness tinged with bananas and cloves, followed by a floral, soapy bitter finish. Earthy notes pop up on the back end, and the finish stays dry despite the yeast wanting to grow doughy, but dull for the style. Pretty though, a hazed gold with ample white foam and lace.

Seems like a good idea, but the execution’s rather middling, offering up nice Earl Grey notes but tying them to a rather unimpressive pale ale. Crackery malts sit on top of piney hops with the slightest tinge of orange zest, semisweet and somewhat resinous, the hoppy bitterness offsetting the moderate bergamot accents. But the beer side comes across too nondescript to really enjoy, and the tea gets overshadowed by the floral, medicinal finish. Missed opportunity.
