Can from Silke. Black with a light brown head. Aroma promises rum barrel and fudge. Taste mildly sweet up front, tart at the back. Body to the full side of medium, mild carbonation. Dry at the end with a mild, lingering warmth. Ok.

Amber with a frothy head that soon fades. Aroma promises plums and green apples. Taste is sour with a mild, oak bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Drinkable.

Amber with a frothy, white head and a ton of sediment. Mandarine aroma. A touch floral. Taste is tart with a mild, underlying bitterness. Finishes much the same with a long, lingering tartness. Full-bodied, moderate carbonation. This feels nothing like any Heller Bock I know, but it did grow on me. Interesting

Bottle via Jens. Pale gold with a haze. Creamy, white head. Dank aroma, lemons, flour and that’s not a misspelling. Taste is sweet with a faint bitterness at the back that’s its best quality. That and a decently chewy body over mild carbonation. Probably just above average for the style. Drinkable.

Bottle at Caru' cu Bere in Bucharest. Gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma of yeasty white bread. Grassy hints. Bitter with an unfortunate touch of rubbing alcohol at the end. Not the best.

Draft at the source in the charming, old taproom in Bucharest. Gold with a frothy, white head. Grassy aroma with touches of pepper and herbs. Bitter throughout. Finishes rather abruptly and emptily, but otherwise this is decent. Refreshing even.

Bottle from the source. Amber with a frothy head. Aroma promises spruce with hints of orange peel and honey. Taste is mildly sweet up front with a herbal bitterness at the finish. Lingering spruce. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, easygoing. Pleasant.

Bottle direct from the Kloster. Amber with a fleeting crown. Not much to look at. Aroma is honey and vaguely floral with a touch of orange peel. Taste is the highlight, bitter and a touch citric over a well-rounded, honey sweet body. Lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied, mild carbonation. Goes down real easy. In the end, a good one.
