Gerbeer Profile

500 ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown with light head. Aromas of brown sugary caramel, oak, a bit of maple syrup, and toasted malts. Flavors of toasted oak, and dry toasted malts with just a bit of maple syrup and whisky.

473 ml can. Pours a hazy dark brown with full tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, oats, creamy coffee, and a bit of plastic. Flavors follow same with roasty finish and green oak. Not getting any significant bourbon.

473 ml can. Pours a dark reddish brown with lots of initial carbonation but no head. Aromas of spice, wormwood, and herbal dark honey. Flavors of sour unripe dark berries and honey with the former being overly strong. Really like the nose to start; too bad there was not a follow through. Not sure on what s trying to be achieved.

750 ml bottle. Pours a dull gold with light head. Aromas of soft Brett, sulphur, lemons, white pepper and soft wheaty malts. Flavors bring out more Brett and citrus and maybe some of that quince. Nice.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dull amber with light head. Aromas of citrus, eatery white grapes, and sharp wheaty malts. Flavors of lemons, fruity tart grapes, a bit of farmyard and more sharp wheaty malts. Quite good, very refreshing and getting close to Tilquin Meerts IMHO.

440 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with light head. Aromas of creamy coffee, dark sugars, chocolate and roasted malts. Flavors of sweet chocolate coated raspberries and very sweet creamy coffee with oily toasted malts. Did I say it’s really sweet and sugary?

On tap. Pours black with very slight tan head. Aromas of coconut, molasses, vanilla, black sour coffee, and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same with emphasis on strong almost sour coffee and green coconut. Tasty but way off balance. Cant drink too much…
