Surprisingly bright and tart, with notes of peach and a mild apricot sweetness up against a grassy background and a firm yeasty finish. Nice pint.

Lovely oatmeal stout, offering up subtle notes of chocolate and roast, underlined by a mocha bitterness and a hint of cascara acidity. Delicious.

One weird-ass IPA, to the point I’m not sure I’d name it an IPA if tasted blind. Kind of a boozy strong ale vibe, lots of honey sweetness mixed with caramel and fruit punch, offset by a subtle wild-yeast funkiness that makes me wonder if there’s some secondary fermentation occurring in the can. Not awful, but definitely not one for repeat consumption.

Substantial imperial stout, thick and rich yet lacking serious booziness, impressive with a 10% ABV. Deep veins of chocolate and coffee underlined by caramel and a firm mocha bitterness. Notes of cascara and anise peek through as it warms. Delicious.

Juicy and sweet but flirting with becoming cloy, with a tropical fruit candy middle mixed with candied citrus zest, bubblegum, and a hint of vanilla, followed by a touch of vegetal dankness, finishing with earth and minerals on the finish. Not bad.

Pretty good straight across the board. Mexican hot chocolate stouts lend themselves more effectively to an imperial ABV, but this one’s not bad, with notes of bitter chocolate and cinnamon on top of a modestly sweet vanilla-tinged base. Dries out on the back end with lingering cocoa and a touch of chili on the finish. Good not great but very drinkable.
