Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours golden amber with minimal scummy off-white head. There’s autumn fruits and citrus in the aroma. In the mouth it is somewhat bitter at the start and this bitterness increases. Flavour has mixed hops, corn and hints of caramel, with traces of tangerine and melon coming later. Bitterness lasts into the slightly dry finish. This is reasonable.

Bottle at That Beer Place, Chester (as Martha Tripel). Pours a bright golden yellow with a sizable foamy white head and good lacing. The aroma is rather spicy with Belgian hops and a hint of nutmeg. In the mouth it has Belgian yeast and hops with a creamy texture and fairly high carbonation. Flavour has bananas, cloves, raisins and a hint of grapes. Later there are traces of alcohol, spice and citrus leading to a quite spicy and dry finish. This is rather nice !

Cask at Square Bottle, Chester. Pours a hazy golden amber with a msall foamy almost white head and excellent lacing, The aroma has biscuits, bread rolls and autumn fruits plus a hint of mango. In the mouth it starts off quite sweet but with some underlying bitterness which steadily increases. Flavour has malts, floral hops and tangerine with traces of melon coming through later. Bitterness lasts into the finish. This is quite reasonable.

Bottle from local Polish shop – drank at home. Pours a golden pink with a sizable but quite transient off-white head. The aroma is mainly sickly sweet sugared cherries plus some hints of malt. In the mouth it is initially sweet cherries, but soon becomes quite tart and acidic. Tartness remains in the finish which detracts significantly from the overall experience. It’s reasonable but not for me.

An IPA using a special one off Full Moon hop, harvested during a full moon eclipse. We've paired them with another hand picked lot of Riwaka from Eggers and brewed on the full moon here to create an amazingly pungent IPA which will be realised just before Halloween. A very special collaboration with Eggers Hops.

Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a cloudy yellow brown with minimal off-white head and good lacing. It’s mainly citrus in the aroma with hints of lime and grapefruit also. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy with malts to the fore though some bitterness of floral hops does gradually ease in, together with hints of peach and citrus. Bitterness lasts into the finish. This is reasonable though not my normal style of beer.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small tan head and good lacing. There’s roasted malts in the aroma, plus hints of dark fruits and coffee. In the mouth the initial impression is of both sweet and bitter characteristics. Flavour has roasted malts, cherries and liquorice with hints of chocolate, coffee and marmalade coming later. Finish is slightly fruity. This is decent.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours golden brown with a medium sized scummy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly floral hops with hints of citrus and mango. In the mouth it has no great flavour at first with a little sweetness giving way to slight bitterness after a time. More flavour comes through later, starting with malts, floral hops and autumn fruits. Later still come traces of spice, alcohol and citrus. Finish is sweet and slightly dry. This is somewhat on the bland side.
