Bottle from local Home Bargains store, drank at home. [Actually brewed by Brand Direct at 4.8% in the Netherlands !] Pours golden yellow with a small transient frothy off-white head. There’s malts and syrup in the aroma. In the mouth it quite sharp with metallic undertones. Flavour is mainly corn and rice with hints of lucozade and a bitter sickly dry finish. This is a typical industrial macro beer – yuck !

Cask at Sun, Stafford. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a small foamy off-white head. There’s malts, banana and caramel in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sweet with oranges and banana to the fore. Some floral hops as well plus hints og bubble gum, spice and ginger. Finish is slightly dry. This is decent.

Cask at Ship Aground, Stafford. Pours almost black with a sizable frothy cream / straw head and good lacing. As expected the aroma has oranges, malts, and chocolate. Pretty much the same again in the mouth where it is sweet, smooth and creamy. Later on there are hints of peel, caramel and alcoholic strength. Sweetness lasts into the finish. This is decent – but somewhat predictable.

Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton. Pours almost black with a small foamy tan head and some lacing. The aroma is powerfully chocolate, but with hints of ginger and malts as well. In the mouth it is smooth, sweet and creamy. Dark chocolate is easily the main flavour but ith traces too of malts, honeycomb and spice. Sweetness lasts into the finish. This is nice but the excess of chocolate cancels out any real beery characteristics.

Cask at PACK, Wolverhampton. Pours a pale gold with a small frothy almost white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma just hints of spices and lemon. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth with a creamy texture. Main flavours are floral hops and a strong but light citrus. Some bitterness comes through later on plus traces of spice, grapefruit and lemon. Finish is slightly dry. This is Ok. A bit bland to start with but gets better as it progresses.

Cask at Goose, Wolverhampton (at 3.6%). Pours “bitter brown” with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. Mainly malts in the aroma but also some hints of red berries. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth with a creamy texture, but also some bitterness involved. Flavour has malts, some floral hops, hints of autumn fruits and (later) nuts and caramel. Bitterness creeps into the slightly dry finish as well. This is reasonable but somewhat bland.
