Oakes Profile - Brewver

Gold colour, slightly dull. Appley aroma, even a bit on the palate. German hops, moderate bitterness, malts are sticky. Hop character is actually good; rest of it is less effective.

Bright gold, medium head. Hop aroma is vaguely piney, somewhat grassy, and there’s a fair bit of bready pale malt. Moderate bitterness, some orange rind, woody bark sort of accent. Not bad, hop could be brighter, but malts are good.

Dull darkish brown. No head. Soft, figgy, sticky dates and big bourbonic vanillins. Rich sugars, basically no carbo. Solid, doesn’t come across as special in the context of the Fremont oeuvre but still very good.

Bright and pale. Thin head. Med brett, medium body, deep fruity accents, brett c and lacto tartness. Decent, but has a fair bit of lemony tartness in the finish. Decent but a bit too sharp for me, as is the MO modus operandi.
