Dark brown, no head. Bourbon, dark chocolate, light fruitiness on the nose. Super dense, cheesecake richness, light vanilla, exquisite dark sugars, the bourbon lending warmth to the finish. Gorgeous beer, superbly balanced.

Pale amber, and bright. Not much head. This has a good toasty, oaky note, with a bit of caramel. Decent quality, maybe I would prefer more malt complexity.

Bright gold. Thin head. Light biscuity, slightly bready malt aroma. On the palate, a fresh pilsner malt character, light bit of toastiness, like really low lov munich malt in there, lowish bitterness but just enough. They've studied the style, and done a pretty good job of getting that malt complexity and balance out of a relatively light beer.

Dark brown with red accents. The aroma is quite grainy, with some phenols coming out as it warms. While the phenols still annoy me on the palate, there's certainly a good toasty malt note to it.

Amber-brown. Earthy. Light chocolate. This is good. Some sweet balsamic, but not oxidized. Solid work.

Hazy and amber. Sort of toasty. Decent malt, light bourbon, some alcohol, clashing with the base. Bourbon ESB is an odd combo, but it doesn't not work.

Pale, some haze. Thin, relatively weak head. The aroma has a fair bit of apricot puree - it's a decent fruit character. It still comes in a bit like an afterthought versus the best-integrated fruit beers around. The palate also has a decent apricot character, but also a light malt and a bit more alcohol taste. There was a beer in BC back in the 90s that was a strong fruit ale that came across too boozy to make sense - the Tall Ship Raspberry Ale - and this calls to mind that beer in terms of its structure and balance. It's far from perfect but I can appreciate it.
