Another pint can from the collection obtained at the brewery some time ago. This evening I have a fruity imperial IPA chilled significantly and ready to go inside of a Buffalo Bayou tulip glass. I determine a murky gold-orange body followed by little to no head but I do see a decent carbonation. I smell plenty of citrus, mostly oranges and tangerines, along with a hops background. The drink builds on the scent, tangerines, a light hoppiness, a bit of lemon sourness and some grassiness. Not the impact I hoped for, the age of the beer might have some effect on that.

I found a huge can, 24 oz, at Circle K on Route 66 in Williams, AZ in late May. The new trend these days I guess, big IPAs sharing cooler space in convenience stores with malt liquors. My favored snifter is prepared for the pour, a semi-transparent yellow-gold liquid sporting a pillowy head of ice white foam. A decent, traditional smell of lots of hops, pine and yellow fruit. The taste is softer but all right. Still plenty hoppy, pine, a caramel sweetness, malt, honeydew and grapefruit. A nice IPA, lots of it to drink which I do with the ones I like.

Another of the beers obtained in an advent box from the brewery. Stamp on the bottom of the 16 oz can indicates the brew is seriously out of date but whatever. I've put into place my Great Heights snifter which is a brewery near Eureka Heights in Houston. The pour is a dark gold with a good stack of snow white foam. The scent does not indicate any problems, there is ripe yellow fruit, hops and floral to a small degree. And now take a taste. I get apricots, a touch of citrus, a vinous effect, and a small amount of hoppy bitterness. Not a big fan of Nelson Sauvin hops but it is working okay here. Better sampling than I anticipated.

A 12 oz can from the local beer shop recently . This go around I will be using my Buffalo Bayou tulip glass and I make the pour. I view a semi-clear gold-yellow liquid carrying a large fluffy head of absolutely white foam. Pleasant nose right off, there is nectarines, citrus, a touch of hops and floral. The drink is all right enough, rather easy to drink. Lemons, a decent hoppy bitterness, a bit of honey and straw. Not great, not bad either.
