Refugee from the RateBeer shutdown (profile name Maris). If there are any Aussie RateBeer users on here who lost their ratings as a result of the shutdown, and want to transfer them to this site, get in contact as I may be able to provide some assistance. If my ratings seem consistently high, it's primarily because I've got to the point where I mainly drink the styles I like best, from the breweries who I know produce consistently good gear.

From a 375ml can on 20/8/2025. Pours a murky amber with a smallish head. The nose is modest with some stewed fruit (maybe apples) and some spice. It's an utterly odd beast on the sip. Tastes of stewed and fermenting fruit - apples again, and maybe some fig and date, without the sweetness, and some caramel malt. Spicy, with a bit cinnamon, a a touch salty, and decently bitter at the back with resin lingering in the mouth. Warming with more than a hint of booze. Full bodied with moderate to average carbonation. Stylistically unfathomable, and both complex and messy all at the same time. Gets a bit better as it warms, but lacks sufficient charm and cohesion to impress..

From a 440ml can on 19/8/2025. Pours a clearish deep brown with a small to medium light tan head. The nose is choc fugdey, cakey with a touch of peanut butter. Like most One Drop pastry stouts, the sweetness is dialled up to full. It gives you milk chocolate, chocolate fudge, vanilla cream, peanut butter and a little marzipan. There's a nice countering bitterness at the back which is a bit salty, a bit roasty and lingers nicely. The palate is slick and a bit creamy. The carbonation is softish to moderate.

From a 440ml can on 17/8/2025. Pours a milky light golden with a small to medium head. The nose features light passionfruit and peach. Those also present taste wise, along with, lemon, lime and orange sherbet. Finishes with a light tangy, ever so slightly spicy bitterness that reminds me of Fruit Tingles. Has a lovely creamy body which belies the relatively modest size of the beer, and moderate carbonation. An absolute cracker and one of the best oat creams I've ever had.

From a 375ml can on 16/8/2025. Pours a lightly hazy, dirty golden, with barely any head. The nose is citrussy, grassy and herbal. On the sip there's lots of lemon and lime, with more than a hint of passionfruit and white grape. Has a distinct, lightly sour, spicy, tangy finish, rendering it quite atypical for the style. Medium body with average carbonation. Perhaps not a home run, but really distinctive and rather interesting.

From a 440ml can on 15/8/2025. Pours a cloudy medium golden with a medium head. Has a big fruity nose features passionfruit, peach and mango. The taste explodes with zesty orange, peach, mango, passionfruit, finishing with a tangy, light spicy bitterness. Has a pillowy mouthfeel with moderate to average carbonation. Punchy and supe cohesive. Wonderful stuff.
