From a wood cask at Thornbridge. Hand pulled. Clear nearly black. Decent lasting pale tan foam. Nose is yeasty and twangy up front, as per a Union beer from Thornbridge. Further notes of vine fruit dark chocolate and wood. Taste is light sweet. Some tangy bitterness. Some dryness. Very easy drinking but well bodied. Twangy fruity bitterness to finish. Drinks well under the 7.7. Chuffed to get this from the wood, too.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Beautiful label. Lightly hazy orange gold. Very decent dense white head. Nose has full on spicy peppery yeast. Hops also come across spicy. Lots of herb and flora here. Nicely aromatic overall. Taste is light sweet with light bitterness. Foamy and easy going. Drinks easy at the 6.5%. Touch of bitterness, touch of dryness to finish. Nice one. Way cleaner and more drinkable than the ones a couple of miles away.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines. Fully hazed gold. Thick-ish lasting (unusual for a TP beer) white foam. Decent Um Bongoesque notes. Moderate wheat. Taste is semi sweet with light hop bitterness. Easy going overall. Nice foamy mouthfeel. Some dryness to finish.

Bottle. Adnams Holkham. Clear pale gold. Foamy white head stays the course. Light bready malts with a surprisingly piny hop character. Light citrus notes. Clean and refreshing overall with decent flavour at the 3.4%.

Can. Adnams Holkham. Hazed gold. Nicely soppy white foam. Significantly better than the other cans from this brewer that I picked (mistakenly thinking they were Adnams beers 🤦🏻‍♂️). Fairly fruity. Clean enough malts. Light bitterness. Dry-ish finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Mills online. Soft haze on a medium gold. Fairly thick semi lacing fully lasting white froth. Nose has ripe stone fruit esters. Some pithy fruit. Mills bugs. Plenty of oak. Taste is lightly tart, juicy, a little dry and a little bitter. Clean and juicy on the palate. Finish is maybe a little wheaty for now but it’s easy to see from past iterations it’s on the verge of another Mills banger.

Can. Adnams, Holkham. A pacific pale, you say? Clear gold. Decent lasting white foam. Looks well, at least. Thereafter it’s just pointless. Thin flavourless fizzy crap. The blurb is laughable.
