Bottle from Dranken Vandewoude and drunk on a train. Dark brown beer lasting tan head. sweet chocolate nutty aroma. A bit like walnuts. Milk chocolate. A bit like toberalone. Attractive dark strong nutty beer. I liked it. A little one dimensional but fine.

Bottled 330ml. -from Magic Beer Room Zagreb. Unclear dark brown coloured, medium sized creamy beige head, spices in the nose. Toasted malt, caramel, christmas spices, dried fruits and touch of ash with rather sugary finish. Alcohol well hidden. Not the best I’ve tried but fair enough.

7/I/17 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 31/VIII/17 (2017-29)
Note: aged for 1 year in my cellar, just never got around to trying it.
Clear dark purple brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: overripe banana, bit spicy, rotting fruit, dried fruits, star anise, some liquorish. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: cinnamon, overripe banana, caramel, bit yeasty, soft bitterness, cocoa powder, cloves. Aftertaste: sourish, dried fruits, ripe banana, bitter hops, pretty roasted finish with some more spices.

Pours hazy dark brown with big frothy beige head. The aroma contains caramel, bread, spices, coffee, licorice and some clove. It tastes medium sweet and medium bitter with a spicy, almost Stout-like finish. Medium body, oily to watery texture, soft carbonation. Decent winter beer, but a bit off-balance.

Bottle at the Brewery Tap, Saturday, 18th June 2016 on a wet and miserable day. But Belgium beat Rep of Ireland 3-0 in the football. Pours dark chestnut in colour with a slim off white head. Loz gets liquorice, I get sweet candy sugar and a strident malty backbone. Spicy and also a little garden herb element here, perhaps a touch of mint and then there is more spice with a touch of clove which provides a slight numb tingle. This beer has a little oomph this is a decent beer, enjoyed this. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Strong fruity nose, Hazy dark brown colour, small frothy tan head, mostly diminishing, a thin layer remains, light lacing. Fruity aroma raspberries, cherries, candy sugar, cinnamon, allspice, sweet fortified wine, later also cocoa. Taste light heavy sweet and light bitter, roasted malts, toffee, dark fruits. Aftertaste sweetbitter, roasted malts, spicy and chocolate notes. Medium to full body, oily texture, average carbonation. A real winterbeer, rich and well-balanced, surprisingly tasty (so why drinking it in May?)
