This gueuze aged for an extra season in 250L cognac barrels.
Out of ten barrels, we selected only the five with the most pronounced cognac character. To develop complexity, we blended lambics from five different breweries.
The unique barrels enrich the Charent'euse with warm oak tones, a full body with depth, and subtle hints of vanilla. The lambic carries this character with robust elegance. The result is a rounded and fresh beer with
ageing potential — perfect with pâté, poultry, or hard cheeses.

Bottle. Color: Clear golden, white head. Aroma: Fruity, Cognac notes, funky notes. Taste: Fruity gooseberry and citrus, Cognac notes, old oak wood, cellar-like funk. Boozy hints. Hints of vanilla. Some Balsamico vinegar. Over moderate tartness. Medium body, just below average carbonation.

Malmö March tasting at Palace Hall 21/03/2026 - tart sour grape fruity with a really nice cognac lacing throughout, medium body and acidity, tart funky fruity and cognac laced tart fruity finish. Lovely.

Bottle picked up at Boerenerf. Quite hazy and fairly dark gold. Impressive white swede. Nose has soft sweet cognac sodden oak. New leather. Sweet white grape. Hint of balsamic vinegar. Some light peachy notes. Taste has a flicker of fruit sweetness and a crisp light dry bitterness. Tangy and lightly puckering without being acidic. Drinks mighty easy with the 8.4% not really evident at all. Just brings on a well rounded mouthfeel. Juicy tart finish. Not the biggest barrel presence but enough to give good character. Another high class affair from this producer.

Pours a clear, bit darker blonde amber. Big white head. Scent is relatively mild, brett focussed. Taste is dry, very woody, funky, medium mild acidity , but very pronounced aromatic features from the wildness, brett but also citrussy acid, silent on acetic though. Medium Mild bitterness that's ( for a lambicbeer) to the higher side. Cognac is surprisingly mild. A very decent geuze, but not the prime pick of boerenerf's offerings.

Bottle pour @ Biere a Lille. Misty yellow appearance, small white head. Aroma presents a prominent barrel influence, running deep into the flavour profile with an encompassing gueuze profile. Delightful.
