Strong, characterful beers are Marc's passion, which he impressively proves with his brewing creations. In his unmistakable style, street artist Ardif lets two deer bucks fight a fiery battle. A combination of deep aromas of dark chocolate and espresso, a hint of wild berries and a warming alcohol content creates a magical firework of flavors.

75cl bottle from Edeka, Rothenburg. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, foamy, beige head; lots of lacing. Aroma of burnt caramel, roasted peanut, milk chocolate, dried banana, orange peel, tea leaves, mocha, raisin, brambleberries. Taste is medium malty sweet, caramel in a slightly burnt way next to dried banana, orange peel & forest fruit (berries, raisin - making it a tad sourish) wrapped in dough; light herbal bitter then, dried tea leaves on fondant with a toasty & nutty edge. Dryish, earthy hoppy finish, lingering nuts, fondant, not too sweet caramel, and subtle warming kahlua-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Rich, full, tasty, Stout-ish Bock.

Very tasty enjoyable beer. The chocolate is quite strong, but not overdone, and very balanced. Yet it remains crisp as a bock. D&S Dresden

Refrigerated 75 cL brown bottle, best by September 9, 2019, from Erzengoal, poured into a snifter. Black with medium/large beige head. Aroma is nuts/chocolate, medium body, medium/lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is nuts and chocolate. Really nice for the style.

Bottle sampled at Den Haag bottle share at Brody’s. Almost clear dark brown with small beige head. Sweet malts and caramel, flowery, light chocolate indeed, bready, toffee, light old wood. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied.

21.05.2018 -- 0.75l bottle from rewe in weil, 4.99€, bb 04.12.2019. pours an opaque black with a big dense beige head. aroma of coffee, roast, slight chocolate. more chocolate on the mouth, with roasted malts, smoke, bacon. this is indeed a stout rather than a dunkler bock. still nice though.

16th April 2018, at the monthly beer exchange in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. I brought along this 0.75 litre bottle to share. Almost black bodied, a very dark brown anyway, on top a tanned coloured head. Malts rule the roost here, roasted malts with a coffee and chocolate leaning in both the nose and taste, slightly more chocolate than coffee. Really enjoyed this, one of the best Dunkler Bock beers I have come across so far (not many actually).

75cl bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, April 18, courtesy of Jeremy. Thanks Jeremy. Pours dark brown, mocha head. Aroma has grainy malt, cocoa beans. Taste is fairly light with chocolate, treacle, grains with roasty nods, some brown sugar notes. Good dunkel.

Bottle 75 cl. Clear, dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Lightly roasty aroma with a whiff of chocolate. Good malty richness with a light roastiness. Very subdued bitterness. Clean and well brewed. 261217
