Strong, characterful beers are Marc's passion, which he impressively proves with his brewing creations. In his unmistakable style, street artist Ardif lets two deer bucks fight a fiery battle. A combination of deep aromas of dark chocolate and espresso, a hint of wild berries and a warming alcohol content creates a magical firework of flavors.

Best before September 9th 2019.

Pours a dark brown, some reddish hues, ample and pleasant looking head of off white foam.

Smells of roasted malt, kinda sweet, dark chocolate bitterness.

This has a bitter sweet thing with going on with some lactose, roasted malt and toffee. Pretty tasty.

Medium body with medium carbonation.

More malt forward than hoppy, thank goodness. It's a big bottle but the drinkability is also big. I favour this one.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown colour, creamy foam, stays long. Nose of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, caramel. Taste is sweet malty with roasty coffee notes. Easy drinkable, well balanced. Not bad at all.

Vom Fass Stone Brewing Berlin im 2016-08 getrunken. Ein Bock mit Schokolade verfeinert ist eine tolle Idee, doch mir gefällt die Flaschenversion besser.

75cl bottle. hazy deep browm with chestnut highlights. Tall ivory-coloured head. Well-lacing. Aroma: rich malts. Molasses, caramel, chocolate, coffee, roasted. Medium body. Medium sweet malty taste. caramel, roasted malts & chocolate. No sign of alcohol. A hop hint finishing. Dangerously drinkable. Feels like a well-done robust porter. Nice.

Bottle. Dark brown with a dense and stable light tan head. Malty, creamy aroma with mocha, burnt sugars, light earthy spices. 7+ Only medium bodied, creamy texture with moderate carbonation. Not as sweet nor as deeply malty as expected, with chocolate and caramelized notes before a slightly bitter and quite spicy finish. The sweetness does hang around though. Pretty good in smallish doses.

Pours dark brown from the bottle. The frothy off white head fades to a thin creamy layer. A web of sticky lacing clings to the glass. Inviting. Aroma dominated by (slightly burnt) "Backhaus Brot" notes accompanied by dark chocolate. Taste picks up accordingly, led by chocolate but soon dominated by cereal notes that delve into a mildly burnt bitterness with smokey undertones. A light, berry sourness lingers afterwards on the tongue. Body is full, carbonation a touch higher than average for the style. Overall a very nice bock.

Bottle shared, courtesy of Michael. Black with light creamy tan head. Dark roasted chocolate malts, chestnut, charcoal, coffee roast. Moderate sweet and deep but soft bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very soft mouthfeel and a very nice beer, crossing the border between dunkel/doppelbock and stout. --- Beer merged from original tick of Maisel & Friends Marc's Chocolate Bock on 26 Dec 2017 at 10:50 - Score: 7.
