Dark brown with medium off white head. Sweet and sour aroma with woody and light balsamic notes. Sweet flavor with youghurt, wood and malty notes. Would be nice with more sourness.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep 2007) Dark brown colour with reddish hints, pale brown head. Fruity, slightly acidic nose with notes of cherries. Fruity, slightly sorish taste with dark fruit and cherries. Rather fresh acidity lingers around throughout. I did expect a brune but ended up quite content with a nice sour ale. Nice surprise.

A nice mahoganny brown ale with a thin lacing off white head. A pleasant pungeant aroma, with sweet cherries, acetic acid, and caramel. A sweet cherry drink with refreshing acidity, caramel. Not bad. Bieropholie import. BB 18-01-07.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown/black with a light brown head. The aroma was candy caramel malt. Taste was very sweet and candy but also finished sorta veggy like.

Bottle: Poured a deep dark red color ale with a small foamy head that disappeared quite quickly. Aroma is sour tart with some sweetness. Taste has definitely a good base of oak and tart with some sour cherries but was cut with some sugar which probably makes it a bit easier to drink through but it loose some of it complexities. This beer reminds of the classic Rodenbach and would be great to drink in the summertime and could even make it as a great session beer.

Bottled (1998 vintage) at Man in the Moon, Stockholm. Clear dark ruby, minimal head. Lightly acidic cherry aroma. Fairly sweet with rounded gentle mouthfeel. Balsamic mouthfilling cherry flavour with some freshening acidity. Mild and creamy despite fairly light body and concentrated flavour. Superb! If it would lose some sweetness it would reach heaven!

Strong and pleasant malt vinegar aroma. A dark amber color and considerable carbonation for the style. Flavor does have sweetness, like fermenting fruit, as well as a malt vinegar acidity. Good like other Flemish sours from Verhaeghe.
