12 oz bottle from a winter mix 12 pack. Murky brown color with thin white head. Aroma is molasses, roasted grain and light notes of fruit?? Toasted walnuts, light caramel and a weak earthy hop in the finish. A nuance of spice. Thin body that borders on watery. No problems just really light.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance has a dark brown/almost dark golden colored body with a small white head that lasts just a couple seconds. Spotty lacing running down the sides of the glass.
The smell has some mild roasted malts along with some nuts.
The taste is slightly sweet through the roasted malts.
The palate is light and sessionable with a mild nutty aftertaste and finish.
Overall, this is good for the style, and awesome to me.

Bottle. Slightly hazy dark amber color with small beige foamy head that dissipates quickly, caramel like aroma, fizzy, slightly sweet taste with a hint of roasted malt, abrupt finish. A bit flat and weak at the end.

Pour is a murky brown with a average tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, brown sugar and molasses. Flavor is a nice brown sugar and sweet molasses heavy malts. Finish has and almost cola like flavor. This could have used a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg to really bring this home. Still this is a malt heavy winter warmer.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Clear amber. Sweet malty fruity aroma, a bit spicy. Sweetish flavor of malt, fruits and a drier spicy finish. Medium-bodied.

Deep copper with a medium head. Aroma is malty, toasted, and a bit of dark sugar. Medium to full body. Flavor has nice toasted malt, sweet, light caramel. Fits the bill for a winter ale but nothing more.

"like coors made it", thats all I could think when I was drinking this one. No imagination, no interesting take or unique flavors.

Location: Draft at the Capital Ale, 11/23/10

Aroma: Fairly unexciting caramel malt nose with some earth, roast, and nuts
Appearance: It pours a clear copper color with an off-white head
Flavor: The flavor is caramel malts balanced by earthy hops
Palate: The body is light-medium, and it is a touch watery on the mouth
Overall Impression: Not a bad beer, but not particularly exciting either. It actually reminded me a bit of their Harvest. It didn't taste exactly the same, but it was similar enough that as we were looking at both next to each other we had a hard time telling the difference, and that similarity extended to the nose and the taste as well. Anyway, beyond that observance I don't have much to add, just that this beer was alright.

Faint candi, apple, and pear aroma that gets stronger and hoppier upon warming. Hazy amber, headless. Pronounced thistle flavor within a much less prominent base of apple and raisin. Finishes with bready clover. This was a very pleasant surprise. There is a hop that is used in this that I really enjoy but don’t find very often. Awesome crafting Long Trail!
