Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.

12oz bottle pours a clear orange with lots of creamy, white head. Big grapefruit nose, fresca, blood orange. Huge and zesty. Flavor has more of the traditional Sculpin, some malt, hop but lots of fresh citrus, grapefruit, blood orange. Refreshing finish. Tons of citrus.

Draught at Braukunst Live München 2014, sampled on two different days to verify, that my excitement wasn’t a result of too much alcohol. ;-)
Dark golden, clear body, with a big, creamy, white head.
Unbelievably fresh nose, wow! Like freshly peeled grapefruit and lemon zest, also pine, grass and fruity hops. Can’t remember an IPA that smelled that inviting and unique at the same time, therefore I give my first ever 10 points for aroma!
Taste follows this pretty much, with some more zesty notes and stone fruits.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes bitter, zesty, piney and with grapefruit of course.
Amazing!! The balance is outstanding, with loads of grapefruit zest, while still being very smooth, not too bitter and most of all incredibly fresh. You can almost see peeled grapefruits in front of you, when you smell it and I just couldn’t stop putting my nose into the glass. My absolute highlight at BKL 2015 and a glad opportunity to enjoy this fresh from tap.

On tap at Harry’s Hofbrau. Massive aroma of grapefruit rind. Faint malt background. Pours a clear deep gold with minimal head that slightly covers the top. Moderate low lacing down the sides. Flavor is almost like grapefruit juice. Very fleshy grapefruit finish. Sweet cracker malt in moderately amounts halfway thru. Finishes moderately bitter and dry. The grapefruit is really overpowering and leads to an unbalanced beer.

Bottle: Nearly clear amber with a short off-white head. Sweet pink grapefruit aroma. Flavour is bright, tingly, grapefruit......like an orange/grapefruit sherbet...... Sweet and soft...followed by a nice, mild peel bitter. Wonderful.

Awesome integration of grapefruit, with everything from the taste to the rind in here. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Some good hops and bitterness. A touch of astringency. Nice. Tap at Ginger Man NYC.

355 ml. bottle @ home. Obtained in a trade with tlahav. Fresh from the USA. Hazy amber / toffee / IPA orange, little white bubbles. Nose is toffee malt, light butterscotch & surprisingly sweet orange peel, light fruity hops behind the toffee, butterscotch. Taste is orange peel, cold water, caramel, light toffee malts, yes indeed grapefruit juice & peel in the back, sweeter almost & less bitter than expected, bit yeast,… Rather candy-like almost at times. Lightly watery. Light powdery, sweetish medicinal feel to it. Fruity sweetness mix of juice in the back sort of works. Interesting but I did wind up feeling a bit like it could have been more.
