Heinenhof Süffige Sünde, Fläschchen aus Tausch mit Pivnizub - Dank an Dr. H.! - Tiefschwarz, undurchsichtig. (21.2.2023.)

bottle, courtesy of beerhunter111. Deep brown with a mid-sized beige-brown head. Roawsty flavours, not too dry, shy earthy hoppy finish. Smooth and well balanced.

Glass from bottle at 'Levendige biercultuur in Duitsland, het Reinheitsgebot beats ALS' Beer Geeks meeting at Davo Bar Arnhem, thanks to Tom T. This beer is not really a Baltic Porter but is made according to the original Knupp beer-style dating from Cologne, according to the introduction by Tom. Color: Very dark ruby, beige head. Aroma: Herbal, fruity, roasted malt, liquorice. Taste: Smooth, roasted malt, quite a lot of liquorice. Moderate to above moderate sweet and bitter. Herbal hints. Over medium body, just below average carbonation. Nice beer, nice beer style that seems to be quite unusual for German origin.

Buddel: Very deep amber coloured, small off-white formy layer, presumably clear, moderate to solid bitter-sweet aroma of toasted malt with dried fruits and licorice; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, oily MF, light acidity, medium to full bodied; lingering bitter-sweet finish with returning traces of licorice and dried fruits and a remaining delicate acidity. Chapeau! Köbes, noch eens...

0.33 l bottle from 'Hopfenrausch', best before April 2020. Clear, very dark reddish brown to black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty and a little fruity aroma of caramel, cocoa, licorice, some coffee and hints of dark fruits. Moderately sweet, malty, gently roasty and a bit fruity taste of coffee, cocoa, licorice, some caramel and traces of dark fruits, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Really pleasant, superbly balanced beer, by far the best I've had from this brewery so far.
