22 June 2019. At Billie's Bier Kafetaria, Antwerp. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours clear red with a lasting, thick, foamy, off-white/pinkish head. Inviting aroma of marzipan, sweet & sour cherry, almond, brioche, redcurrant, Napoleon candy, red wine, vanilla. Taste is medium fruity sour, lots of cherries, redcurrant, somewhat wheaty & lemony, balanced by sweetish cherry, red jam, yoghurt & faint candy (but not in a sticky kind of way). Almondy nuttiness, brioche-like malts & some bittering fruit seeds lead the way to a dryish, tart, cherry- & slightly vinegar-like finish, lingering almond & soft dough. Medium body, creamy-fluffy texture, soft carbonation. Still very much a delight. Original rating: at Café Cambrinus, Bruges. 8/4/8/4/15=3.9.

2016 bottle shared with the crew at CB. Pours a clearish ruby with a finger of off-white foam that lingers. Lovely tart cherry nose, some light cough drop notes, cherry skin and oak. More cherry skin and stone on the palate, oak and light vanilla. Sweet cherry on the palate with some bright tartness as it warms. Low acidity, but impeccably balanced. So smooth and enjoyable. Would pair well with any number of foods. Cherry and berry throughout. Another world class beer from Brouwerij Rodenbach. --- Beer merged from original tick of Alexander on 02 Mar 2018 at 23:10 - Score: 8. Bottle, thank you Tim. Nice reddish amber pour, quite transparent and clear. Beautiful sour vinegary nose, sweet without sweetness, sticky, berries there. Taste has good sweetness in the base, measured vinegar, smooth berry character. Nice and enjoyable classic, I like it is not too sour, just a right amount of tartness. Well balanced and totally enjoying this. World class and world classic.

Geproefd met Roelzie1986 bij de Gouverneur in Maastricht. Het heeft een bruin achtige kleur met een dunne schuimkraag. Het heeft een fruitige geur. De smaak is fruitig, wat zuur en kersen achtig. Lekker.
