A naturally cloudy ‘session style’ Apricot wheat beer to celebrate longer days and the return of the sun. Golden Promise, wheat and acidulated malt were used in the mash along with Citra T90 hops in whirlpool to create a smoothly fruity base. Fermented with a classic German Hefeweizen yeast (WLP300) along with 1000Kg of fresh Apricot to deliver flavours of banana and clove with a nectarous, tart finish.

Tap. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Hazy, pale, lemony gold. Fairly dense, thick, lasting, white head. Nose has soft funk. Sweet, wheaty grain. Some sour apricot. Some apricot stone. Light, fruity esters in the background. Taste is light sour, a little dry, and has some estery sweetness. Clean mouthfeel. Fine carbonation. Light, fruit sourness to finish. Nice one. Surprised at the relatively low scores for this.

On tap at Patrick’s. An unclear orange colored beer with a small white head. Cute lacing. It’s quite wheaty on the nose, with a touch of lemon, orange and apricot. Peach really, guess it’s apricot though. Fruity flavor with some wheaty malts. Rather low on bitterness. Some sweetness too. Medium body and a very soft carbonation. Fruity finish. Quenching and easy drinkable. Nothing special. 170617
