Une stout riche et suave sur d’intenses notes caramélisées, liquoreuse, avec des pointes d’anis, de tourbe et d’Armagnac.
Un petit bijou immortel…

The nose is boozy, malty and slightly acidic. A great, dense and fluffy tan head on a very dark brown body. Scotch whiskey, bitter chocolate, malt, apricots and ash lead the taste profile, but there is not a lot of depth to the tastes and they are a bit raw. Quite dry and even a bit ashy. A little too fizzy for the style. A disappointment at 11% abv with all that casking.

On tap at Bistro l'Autre Oeil. Pours black with a beige head. Great roasted malt on the nose. Flavour has rich roasted malts, lots of good roasty goodness. There are some fruity/sugary notes that suggest some barrel aging. This is really nice.

Draft.
A- Black color, black liquid, brown head.
A- Roasty, mild booze, oak.
F- Malt, cocoa, roasty, bitter chocolate.
T- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish.
O- Just okay. A lot more traditional in flavor than I anticipated. Expected more barrel influence as well.

Roast and cognac. Some oak here. A light bit of caramel and a hint of florals from the 'yac. Black pour with decent head. Bitter end. Good to see Dunham at Churchkey.

Jet black, thick dark brown pour, loads of lace and legs. Strong thick aroma of charred malts, soy, burnt cocoa beans, chocolate, and some woody, earthy vanilla. Mouth feel is very oily, and th carb is bang on. Finish is slightly fruity, with huge amounts of bitterness, and charred bitter malts. The barrels emparts a sweetness that lingers throughout with notes of liquorice and earthy, woody vanilla, with some subtle alcohol warming to finish. Great stuff.

375ml bottle (thx, Enzo M.!). 3 years old (released once in 2015). Pours a very dark brown with a strong dark beige head. Aroma is barrels, a bit fruity and sweet, some roasted malt and leather. Taste is similar with lots burnt malt and some burnt sugar notes. Good one.

Very dark brown. Thin head. Roasty, bit nutty, but also lots of rich sweetness. Nice bitter stout with a mellow barrel note.

On tap. Pours a very dark brown with short tan head. Aromas of smokey toast malts and dark sugars. Rich sticky flavors of caramel malts, woody cognac, coconut, and nougaty chocolate. Define brandy/cognac finish. Great stuff.
