375mL bottle, sent from yourlevesque (thanks a lot, Youri), pours a motor oil jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is complex as hell, with loads of roast, various liqueurs in there (cognac and brandy), alcohol and dried dark fruits. Flavour is complex as hell, with loads of cognac and brandy upfront, wonderful alcoholic notes that warm, roasted malt and not really any hoppiness other than a fairly harsh, dry astringency which balances things out beautifully. Complex, robust and aggressive, while being in fantastic balance. Wonderful stuff.

Draft at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Pours near black with a medium beige head. Aroma of roast, licorice, fudge, toffee, dark chocolate, light wood, light boozy barrel notes, calvados and cognac coming out as it warms. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a sweet chocolate malt with coffee grind, bourbon barrel, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and intense, yet enjoyable. On tap at Mondial 2015.

Bottle - Chocolate, vanilla, graham cracker and nice barrel notes. Deep jet brown with a rich brown head. Sweet, booze, bitter dark chocolate and a long finish with a touch of sweet barrel notes in the background. Body is a bit thin initially but slick in the finish. Overall a nice balanced beer without the heat or booze I would expect.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of sweet black chocolate notes with well-balanced aroma of cognac. Taste is also dominated by sweet black chocolate notes with light roasted malt with well-balanced cognac notes which rounds off any rough edges this beer might have had. Body is pretty full with good carbonation and no real apparent alcohol notes. Incredibly easy to drink with good level of complexity. A bit pricey but I should have bought more bottles.
