Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 18B). Bottle 35.5 cl - Batch unknown (BBF unknown - Bottle on 22/11/2016). AROMA: predominant medium oxidized hop aroma with notes of dried grass. medium-low to low resiny notes as well a bit of tropical fruit (pineapple). medium-low malt notes with a caramel-like component. APPEARANCE: gold color and translucent. medium white head with medium retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with a medium-low hop note (piny and resin), as well oxidized hops (slight dried tea leaves). medium-low malty background (slightly sweet) with an almost neutral character. medium-high bitterness with a bitter and semi-dry to dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: an American Pale Ale that starts to show some signs of oxidation.

355ml bottle into shaker. Caramel malt nose with background fruity hops. Amber, thin head with a slight haze. Taste is clean and fruity. Light and zingy body. Finish is initially earthy hops then a little malt, eventually a lingering bitterness remains. Not bad.

12oz can. Suffers some from age and being in a can, which mutes the hops some to me and adds a plastic feel. A pretty solid APA. Very classical, none of that new school tropical peach apricot guava action. Classic NW bitterness, very West Coast minded. Quite sessionable, but with enough depth to remain interesting. Well made.

Bottle split at GBBF ’16, thanks to James, 09/08/16. Pale golden with a well presented off white cap. Nose is citric sherbets, lemon rind, orange pith, straw, toasted bread. Taste comprises tangy citric peel, pine needle, melon, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a skunky hop wash. Decent enough APA.

Can. A- Grapefruit zest, tangerines, biscuits, subtle caramel, tropical citrus. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Medium bitterness, citrus, tangerines, slightly bready, grapefruit. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- I had this beer for about 8 months after canned date for who knows why. Good to find out this beer is still exceptional that much later. Very balanced. Perfect amount of bitterness and loaded with tropical juicy citrus notes.

0.355 l bottle from ’EDEKA Preller’ (Breckerfeld), bottled in May 2016. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, quite fruity and a bit resiny aroma of mango, passion fruit, orange and some pine. Slightly sweetish, quite fruity, a bit grassy and slightly resiny taste of mango, passion fruit, orange jam, a touch of honey and some pine, followed by a short, medium bitter, grassy-dry and a bit resiny finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and a bit effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Classic, tasty APA with a very good balance and a pleasant mouthfeel.

12 oz. can. Pours pale gold, with a big, frothy, white head and thick lacing. Pine and resin, some herbal notes, sourdough, and wet grass. Light, grainy, sweet flavor, with a fairly strong, bitter finish. Medium body, chewy, crisp, and a little astringent. This is a pretty nice and aromatic pale ale.

7 week old can from mixed 12 into a tulip. A: Clear slight orange tinted gold with slow bubbles feeding a 1/2" head with fair retention and elaborate patches of lace. S: Light grapefruit/tangerine scent with a bit of honey. T: Bitter pith flavor up front. Tart citrus fruit and zest note coming in finishing with a hint of pine and wood. Pith lingers. Great balance of flavors. M: Crisp and light with stiff carbonation tingle and pithy but fresh clean finish. O: Very nice in all aspects. Easy recommendation.
