If you had Sour Grapes on draught, it was this version. This is a Berliner Weisse style beer that we use to fill barrels with as well as going out fresh to select keg accounts.

We brew our Henley Gold Wheat Beer and then take it through a Lactobacillus fermentation, followed by a wheat beer yeast fermentation.

Keg at the Lovibonds tap takeover Brewdog Camden. Translucent golden / straw coloured pour with a thin white head. Aroma is lovely sour lemon, with earthy straw, lemony zip, tart apple. Flavour is really grainy, grain husks, straw, zippy tart lemon and apple fruit, grain / fruit tanin. Palate is fine, light refreshing body, spritzy carbonation, tart finish. Lingering tangy sour fruit. Nicely balanced

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Glad to get a chance to try this again after the misunderstanding the first time around. pours slightly hazy yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of sherbet lemon and wheat. Tart sour taste, pleasantly lip-puckering at first, then settling down to something closer to cider as you acclimatise. Very nice.

Tap at the brewery in Henley, 05/05/13. Lightly hazed pale golden with a thin white head that retains well. Nose is sour grapes, light funk, touch herbal, pissy hint, elderflower, faint citrus. Taste comprises soured white grapes, lemon rind, funy barnyard, tarte citrus fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, crisp and dry in the finish. Good lightly soured fayre, great to add a tarte note to the tongue and refresh on a warm day.

Stouts III Tasting. Cheers Paul for this one. Pale amber beer, bubbly white head. Palate is light and crisp, semi dry. Pleasant sourness, so not too much then! Light apple, apricot and lesser generic fruits. Finishes light crisp. Very drinkable sour.

Growler shared at Bruce’s in London during the Stouts Pt. III & Others: The Brokeback Tasting - big thanks to Paul. Pours clear gold with a fine, creamy white head. Pale bread in the nose, hints of orange and other citrus. Light sweet flavor with mellow tang, lemon, some corn, white bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation, clean finish, some cereal, lemon, hints of orange, wheat. Tasty. Very drinkable.

On tap at the brewery, Henley-on-Thames, Oxon Friday 19 October 2012 I rated this under the Barrel Aged version last October without actually thinking that the one I would have had would have been fresh non-barrel aged as I’d had it at the brewery, well done Scopey for adding this version, I will delete my barrel aged version now I have added this here. Pours hazy gold with nice steady effervescence, creating a slight white rim. Taste is sour, wheaty, tart with a lovely zinginess. Refreshing stuff would be great on a summers day but fine on a miserable wet October day. Fruity with an almost tangy cider like quality but without the dryness and clearly minus the apples. Great beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

I originally had this on tap at Indymanbeercon 2012, then more recently at Lovibonds. Please note this is for the young, unblended, un-barrel aged base beer. It pours lightly hazy straw yellow with a thin, fizzy white head. The nose is rather soft, vinous/white grape, faint wheat and light sweetness. The taste is sharp, fresh lemon, sherbet, lactic acid, juicy, zesty fruit and tart white grape with a smooth, tart finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Hides alcohol well. Palate cleansing. This is not meant to be a complex beer, just refreshing and massively drinkable.
