Bottled 33 cl. Vintage 2013. Pours black with a warm, burgundy glow and a creamy, light brown head. Chocolatey aroma with only a whiff of whiskey. Medium body, lowish carbonation, some rich chocolate before a warming whisky finish. Richer and fuller than the Highland edition which I somehow like a little better though. 261016

Bottle shared at the ’Beers of London’ Tasting MkII, Bespin Cloud City - Hyde Park zone, thanks to KennyBob 11/02/15. Bottle #481. Light black with a decent tan covering that dissipates to edgework and spotting. Nose is rich malt, toffee, spice, raisens, subtle BA notes. Taste comprises light chocolate, spice, dark malt, rich fruits, toffee fudge. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, light booze trace in the close. Ok impy, as with all 4 in this series fairly easy drinking and drinks well under the ABV. As impys go - drinkable but at the lower end of the order.

Bottle shared at the Gardens - thanks to Kenny for it. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head. The aroma holds dark malts, slight tangy dark fruits, cocoa, torched wood. Medium sweet flavor with notes of vanilla, toasted toffee, mellow earthy bitterness, mild coconut. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lilly warming on the finish with more chocolate, moderate roast, so,e bittersweet cocoa, more toasted coconut, vanilla pods. Very good.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours dark brown with a small tan head. The nose is smooth, rich roast, toasty coconut, bounty bar, honey, vanilla, earth, dull smoke/toast. The taste is smooth, roasted malt, vanilla, toasty, charred wood, earth, mild smoke, light alcohol, coconut and pepper with a dry, toasty finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Smooth and deceptively drinkable. Solid, but I prefer the Islay ones.

Bottle picked up at Independent Spirit, Bath. Consumed at Cropredy ’Fairports Annual Reunion’ Festival, Cropredy, Oxon, Friday 8th August 2014 Pours black this is smooth and really quite decent, tasty, even a little toasty very drinkable for the abv. A soft sweet seam of liquorice peeps up above the barrel ageing which lends its whisky warmth to proceedings. I might just be getting a hint of vanilla, but not for long as this. roasty but not harsh, I like this. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
