Bottle 33 cl. Vintage 2013. Pours a clear black with a beautiful, warm burgundy glare and a small, rough, beige head. Nose is subtle roast and licorice, with lovely whisky accents. Body is surprisingly thin, salt licorice dominates, again lovely whisky leading to a dry but not really boozy finish in spite of the ABV. Some late ashes. 261016

Bottle shared at the ’Beers of London’ Tasting MkII, Bespin Cloud City - Hyde Park zone, thanks to KennyBob 11/02/15. Light black with a decent tan covering that soon dissipates. Nose is rich roast, mellow dark fruits, spice, toffee, chocolate, subtle wood tones. Taste comprises light booze, wood tinge, rich toffee, subtle whisky mash, hint of chocolate. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. As with the other beers in this series - drinks way below its ABV. Impy wise - lower end of spectrum but decent enough.

Bottleshare at Leighton’s flat. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts. Nice tangy and fruity whisky. Touch of bitterish wood. Finishes smooth with more fruity whisky and a little spice. Nice.

Bottle shared at Leightons pad. Many thanks to Kenny for this one. Brown / caramel coloured pour with a small halo of tan head. Aroma is small whisky, booze, soft roast, little choc,. Flavour is composed of nice sweet, vanilla oak, caramel, smooth whisky, little oak and nice dried raisin fruits in the background. Lingering touch of liquorice. Palate is medium full, moderate carbonation, semi sweet. Lingering cocoa, vanilla, oak. Really smooth.

Bottle shared in London - another big thanks to Kenneth. Pours clear deep brow with a foamy beige head. Nicely rounded aroma, with notes of dark fruits, chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor with rich chocolate cake, brownies, mild earthy bitterness, some alcohol. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Good balance on the finish, subtle booze, lightly bitter chocolate, torched earth. Very good.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is rich, sweet vanilla, bounty bar, cocoa, non-descript whisky, varnish and dried fruits. The taste is smooth, chocolate, toasty, earth, charred wood, whisky action, warming alcohol and light pepper with a dry, earthy finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Hides abv pretty well. Not bad, but probably my least favourite so far.

Black ink pour into the tulip glass. Small tan head that dissipated quickly, very little lacing. traditional Imperial Stout aromas of ripe dark fruit, coffee beans, dark chocolate, some whisky on the nose a bit. Flavor is liquid velvet smoothness, full oily mouthfeel. Slightly bitter on the back of the tongue. Long finish.
