Cask at Baxter's Court, JDW - Hackney, London. Pours clear copper with a frothy, off-white head. Not bad overall, has some earthy hops, orange rind, toasted malts, leaves. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Alright balance in the finish, vague citrus, earth. So so.

Handpull cask at the Old Green Tree, Bath. As 'American Red Ale'. Dark red/amber, clear with a small off-white head and considerable lacing. Resinous aroma with sweet malt, pine, dark fruits. Sweet taste, malt-led with some gentle fruity hop nearer the drier finish. Thin body, but that's fine for the style. I find Sambrooks to be very hit and miss, so I was happy to try this.

Cask at Draft House Charlotte, 16/01/18. Reddish amber with a well presented light beige head. Nose is caramel, biscuit, light candied fruits, perfume, airy malts. Taste comprises caramel, light floral rip, straw, toasted grains, brown sugar, candied orange peel, touch of grass. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Decent cask offering for the style.
