Bottle shared by Matt. Pours clear amber, small off-white head, decent lacing. Aroma is light overall, hints of mushroom and acetone, lemon. Flavor is medium tart, mineral water, lemon and faintly mushroomy funk. Light body. Eh.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is interesting with some malt notes and an acidity that I can’t quite pin down. Some caramel, toffee and toasted bread notes. Light bourbon and oak. Raisin, plum, fig, and date. A light acidity, but no citrus or pineapple notes. Pours a rather clear copper-amber color with a large, thick somewhat creamy looking white head that slowly recedes to a thin film that lingers for some time on the edges. No lacing and medium small legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with a light sharpness to it. Medium light sweetness with some light caramel and toasted bread notes. Hints of nuts. Medium light oak and faint tannins. Light bourbon. Lots of fruit notes with tons of dates and raisin. Lighter plum, prune and fig. Some odd berry and cherry notes. Honestly, the acidity and fruit notes are very difficult for me to pin down. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, the beer isn’t bad, but it is definitely weird. The fruit and acidity blend to make a flavor and aroma that I can’t pin down; its not bad, its just different. Light oak and bourbon notes,

Sample at Ericka’s and Nihar’s Holiday Gathering on 12/18/2015. The beer is a cloudy reddish-amber color with a medium fluffy white head that dissipates gradually. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart fruit, oak and yeast. Medium body with flavors of tart citrus, oak, herbal yeast and malt. The finish is moderately sour with an oaky and citrusy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle shared in Jack’s honour - thanks to Colin for this one. Pours cloudy orange-gold with a frothy white head. The nose holds big, tart tangerine and lots of rank sweat. Heavy up-front tartness, which thankfully relaxes a little bit as you drink. Lots of lemony bite, tangy sweat, acidic burn. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Harsh sour finish with some citrus fruits, especially lemon. A bit harsh overall.

Bottle shared at craft beer co JackL leaving drinks. Big thanks to Colin for this one. Hazed orange, dark , loose white head fades. Aroma is tart citric acid, orange juice, semi sweet, musty. Flavour is composed of super tart puckering lemon juice. Citric acid. Tangy. Palate is semi sweet. Puckering sour. Highish carbonation. Face is inside out. No balance. Really pithy.

Bottle split at Jack The Sipper leaves for the FBI again tasting, from an IP trade with MJ in PDX , 14/07/15 @slow gusher alert. Hazed orange amber with a decent off white swirl. Nose is tarte citric rinds, woody tones, earthy fruit, spruce, light spice. Taste comprises tarte fruit rinds, subtle barrel notes, lemon rind, wood must, damp carpet, gone off orange marmalade, vinegar notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light brett strokes in a drying close with acidic bite. Ok, a touch overly vinegary and aggressive though.

Farewell Jack bottleshare at Craft Clerkenwell. Thanks to Colin for this table cleaner. Gusher! Cloudy apricot coloured beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Tart orange and lemon, touch of nectarine. Light dry finish. Pretty tart but unusually I like this more than most!

Gusher! Bottle thanks to Cloin McBoizy. It pours cloudy deep reddish-orange with a small white head. The nose is earth, bitter-sweet, tangy, jam, apricot, peach, mouldy nectarine, must and vanilla. The taste is crisp, tart, bracing acidity, wood, lemony sherbet, jam, strawberry, wood, leather, mouth-pucker, alcohol hit and battery acid.....Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Pretty disappointing. Very rough around the edges.
