@ ACBF 2015. Dark brown/black colour, creamy foam. Aroma of coffee and roasted malts. Boozy and sweet with notes of vanilla. Light notes of brett. Ok.

Bottle sample @ ACBF 2015.

Pitch black, dense and thick, looks like oil, no head at all. looks totally flat. Smells like fudge, booze and cappuccino. Taste is like prune juice, figs, chocolate, Totally flat, almost actually like a Sherry wine than a stout. loads of dessert like qualities. I taste every bit of the booze but it is indeed a very interesting beer. Might be remarkable as a sipping beer that you re-cork in 5-10 years.

Bottle, Bottiglia n. 0129. Once upon a time, impys were barrel aged and somewhat wild. Oh, the good times. And just when the ancient art was all but forgotten, Toccalmatto came to the rescue. Pours pitch black, with a creamy mocha head. Amazing aroma with dark roasted malts, red wine barrels and woody brett with tobacco and maple syrup, as well as lactic acid, dark chocolate and muscovado. Full body with creamy texture, and soft to none carbonation. Flavour is dark malts with tobacco and dark fruits, red wine barrels, tannins, and woody brett, as well as notes of heather, whisky and sea salt. Dark fruits, leather and salty liquorice in the finish. An absolute winner! Can I have another...

Sampled at Borefts 2014. Pours near black with a ring brown head. Aroma of soy, Asian supermarket, caramel, raisin, fudge and wood. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter with some light acidity. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Sampled bottle @ Borefts 2014. Thank you! Very beautiful packaging, new bottle opened & decanted by the brewer prior to giving me a taster, talk about presentation. Dark brown, black with zero head; Sour brett, mocha, syrup, caramel, varnish. Taste is thinned out, oxidation, varnish, brett, ink,.. No carbonation, thinned out, bit varnish; Cool presentation but I do not feel like the whole thing really comes out, RIS cannot be the right style for this, this feels not only too thinned out but above all too oxidised for me. Their “Bedda Matri Marsala Wine Barrel Aged” which came in a similar packaging & treatement was way nicer.

Tap at Borefts 2014. Poured a dark mahogany with little life. The aroma is rich roasted malt, alcohol, molasses. The flavour is moderate bitter with a super smooth rich Brett yeasty vinous alcoholic bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with flat carbonation.
