An IPA with a citrus kick, Virmalised GF uses a blend of hops and fresh grapefruit.

Taste: Sweet fresh citrus mixes with a refreshing acidity before more citrus joins the party, intertwining with a sweet biscuity malt character. A hoppy freshness comes in after the initial citrus kick, reminding of classic Virmalised flavours, before finishing off with more zesty grapefruit .

Pours unclear amberpeachy small white head’ smell is intense fruity, almost soda-pop fruityness, with a mild bitter back. Taste is sweet, bit bitter, very fruity, fruitjuice-soda like combo, which i don’t love.

Hieman utuisen samea kullankeltainen olut kohtalaisella vaahdolla. Hieno tuoksu on tuoreen ja raikkaan greippinen, pihkaisen havuinen ja makean karamellinen. Maku on makean karamellinen, havuinen ja vain vähän greippinen. Pehmeä ja keskitäyteläinen suutuntuma.

Sampled from tap at the Oedipus International Beer Festival 2016. Slightly hazy, golden amber with a white head. Fruity-grassy aroma of grapefruit, mango, ginger and pineapple. Quite bitter, grassy-fruity taste of lots of pink grapefruit, lemon, blood orange and some lemon, followed by a medium long, quite bitter, dry finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, don’t dig these fruit ipa’s though.

2/7/16: Great IPA with grapefruit added. Very fruity, not too bitter. Grapefruit complements the hoppyness. Amazing balance.

22/9/16: Better than I remember. Huge citrus aroma. Powerful smell. Hoppy but not overpowering. Amazingly fruity, almost like candied oranges. Yum.

(Keg at William K. Kurvi, 20160627) The beer poured amber and rather cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had creamy toffee, grapefruit and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grapefruit, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity, tart and bitter. A pretty good fruit infused hoppy pale.

Bottle shared. Thanks Raul! Big ruby red grapefruit forward nose reminiscent of grapefruit sculpin. Some light mango and peach notes come out as it warms. Bitter on the palate and finish, but with lots of refreshing grapefruit juice that pairs well with the bitterness. Really nice fruit IPA.

Thank you! 330 ml. bottle sampled. Older bottle, guy who shared it kept it about 6 months according to him. So not expired probably but not in its prime either. Hazy orange with an off-white head. Nose is dull yeasty, grapefruit (the kind you could also get from hop), bit yeast, grapefruit is lively still, some mellow fruity hop. Smell is promising, taste is a bit too yeasty, bland, grapefruit & hop is weak, low caramel,… Yeasty body,… Bit weak & dull but nothing terrible, I will be mild here given the circumstances.
