Super Red IPA. Chyba najlepsza jaką piłem. Barwa o głębokiej rubinowej czerwieni, beżowa kremowa i sporą piana. More, more, more.

Bottle at Le Bier Circus, Brussels on 10th January 2020. Pours dark reddish-brown with thick off-white foam and pattern lacing. Roasty malts, forest fruits and pungent earthiness in aroma. Spicy roast malts in-mouth, with a finish of roast maltiness and tangy fruits. A smooth texture, with plenty of body.

24 October 2019. At Bier Circus, Brussels. Cheers, Anke & Pieter! Pours hazy dark amber with a lasting, small frothy, tan head; lots of lacing. Aroma of raisin, biscuit, apple cake, pear, orange peel, plum. Taste is light to medium fruity sweet, plum & raisin on a biscuity malty base, bitter orange peel, spicy paprika, a bit grapefruity, more dry in the piney hoppy finish, hinting at blood orange, red grapefruit, pomegrenate perhaps. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Amber Ale-ish, Red IPA, somewhat Belgian too... A bit of everything, but a good beer.

18/V/19 - on tap @ SWAFFF (Brussels), BB: n/a - (2019-762) Thanks to the Belgian Ratebeer crew and the Antwerp beer geeks for sharing today's beers!
Pretty clear red to reddish amber beer, small creamy dense off-white head, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: malty, caramel, some dried fruits, bit oxidized, little roasted. MF: ok carbon medium body. Taste: bitter start, malty, some chocolate, caramel, bit hoppy, fruity. Aftertaste: dried fruits, malty, fruity, nice bitterness, hoppy, grapefruit finish. A bit confusing. What is this, a BIPA? Anyway, it's just a nice beer. (Ah, apparently it's a red ipa.)

Red IPA, one of the newest NovaBirras, bottle from Belbière shared with Craftmember. Thick and mousy, bit irregular, pale yellowish beige head lacing sparsely over a clear reddish copper coloured beer with warm amber hue, turning misty with some yeast dots here and there when the sediment is added. Inviting bouquet of grapefruit, red apple, dry bitterroot, soggy bread, cooked sweet potato, orange, ras-el-hanout and barbecue spices, almond, pine resin, mandarin, paprika. Fruity onset, red apple, some mandarin and a touch of peach, sweetish with medium carbonation; soft, smooth, bit oily mouthfeel. Lovely caramelly and even honeyish malt and sugar sweetness in the middle, almost candied cherry-like but countered towards the end by gently bittering toastedness and – eventually – a long, grapefruity and bit piney, wormwoody, spicy (paprika) hop bitterness which lasts long and provides a welcome contrast against the sweetness; light bready yeastiness lingers in the background. More yeasty than average for the intended style, but this aspect in this case adds fruitiness and body which I found very enjoyable, while still remaining hoppy enough – in a New World, yet old school way, see the West Coast tradition – to deserve IPA status. Well-balanced, pleasantly perfumed and lovely bittersweet, this is among Novabirra’s best so far, for me personally at least.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 06/09/2020, bottled 08/2018.
