Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Cloudy, very pale, straw colour. Thick, lasting, white head. Lovely looking. Wheat. Hay. Yeast. Lemongrass. White grape juice. Taste is starchy dry. Has a little soapy sweetness. Fresh, cleansing palate, emphasised by the lively carbonation. Dry finish, with that light soapiness right at the end. Very nice.

Bottle at the brewery, 29/03/14. Slightly hazed washed out yellow come orange with a big old semi off white head that retains well. This may not sound a pretty picture but this is actually a handsome beer! Nose is citric peel, bread dough, spice, straw, lychee, tarte mandarin, green apple. Taste comprises pefumed notes, peach, floral tones, more lychee, tangy mandarin, tarte citric jus, straw, spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp and clean in the execution. Solid saison.

Lightly hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, semi dry and airy. Light seltzer salts and floral lemon. Mild tang and a little lemon sherbet. There is something else fruity going on but not obviously lychee. Light dry finish. Tasty.

Bottle at home in London - picked up from the brewery. Pours lightly unclear, pale yellow with a pure, frothy white head. The aroma is engaging and dynamic, with overarching doughy pale malts and then accents of white grape and tangy lemon. The flavor is lightly sweet with semi-dry, doughy pale bread, biscuits, pleasant lychee notes (akin to white grape gummies here), a bit of ripened lemon, faint citrus rind and straw. The body is quite light but the carbonation is lively, lending the beer a massaging, velvety texture. It finishes cleanly with light sweetness, dried berries, mellow floral notes, dry dough. Exceedingly drinkable, refreshing. Another winner in the Partizan Grisette series.
