Paid $2.49 for an 11.2oz bottle at Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a medium brown with a half-inch tan head. Light aroma of vanilla and vinegar... maybe some cherry. Flavor is dominated by a vinegar-like flavor followed by a hint of sweetness, some cherry and sour apple. Not a bad brew- not a huge fan of the style, but drinkable, no doubt.

Pour is a deep red with a soft white head. Aroma is almost all vinegar with a touch of musty cherries. Flavor is good but not outstanding. Lots of sour cherry, berryness and lots of wine qualities. An ok example of the style.

Dark amber with a medium sized head. Sourish cherry aroma. Sourish cherry stone flavour with faint notes of toffee. Tastes a bit like a watered down Kriek.

(Bottle 25 cl) I remember the first time i had this at "De Vagant", a jenever-place in Antwerpen. The bartender didn’t understand my order for a "Vlaamse Bourgogne", but a friendly regular helped to the more simple name "Bios". A red sour ale, close to the Rodenbachs although also rathe different. Vinous with a vinegary touch. And at the same time very fruity with lots of black currant in the nose. Excellent. 090594

Bottled. Dark red colour, huge creamy creamy head. Strong applle/cherry aroma. Strong sour apple and cherry flavour with hints of sweetness. My first thought was "very krieklike".

Bottle: Poured a brownish red color beer with a medium off-white foamy head with some pretty good retention. Aroma is quite sour and you can already feel the effect of the oak on this beer. Taste is quite acid with some subtle sweetness at the end. Cheery feels is less present then in the Rodenbach Grand Cru but can still be detected. Overall, I find this one to be a good Flemish sour ale and would even say that it seems to be underrated compared to some other Flemish Sour ale.

Bottled (BB 07/2007)
Dark brown, not much head. Personal sour aroma of molasses, yeast and grapefruit. Medium-bodied, sour and fruity. Short bittersweet aftertaste. Quite easy to drink despite od sourness.

Hazy amber coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of tart cherries, tart raspberries, malt and some oak. Medium-bodied; No fullness at all-just a light tartness-nothing strong. Overall, a decent flemish sour, but not great though! I sampled this 33 cL bottle at the November RB party at Founder’s in Alexandria, Virginia on 20-November-2004.
