Collaboration with The Hanging Bat, this is ridiculously drinkable at it's ABV. A sticky, sweet beer similar to a barleywine but with the spiciness of rye to boot. Caramel, candied fruit and leathery notes add to the complexity of this beer.

330ml bottle. Pours cloudy reddy brown with a small head. Aroma is spicy and woody. A little raisin. Very subtle. Taste has sweet caramel with a little rye spice on the finish. Coffee hints.

Pours clear amber, not much foam. Aroma is weak, bit sweetish, spicy. Taste hits you with alcohol, bit of hops adding to the sensation. Spicy, super spicy. Tobacco smoke. A bit short aftertaste. Interesting experiment.

Beautiful amber red color, a bit of rye very muddled sweet malty character. Full body, low carbonation, very muddled mouth with some rye. Boring. Not impressive at all.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Slightly hazy, dark orange. Halo of cream coloured head. A slow moving, leggy beer this. Smell is very much like a Christmas cake mix, dried fruits, candied citrus peel, cherries, and the like. Some fresh herb. Get the rye spice, too. It’s a bit jammy, and slightly boozy. Taste is spicy dry. Some light sweetness on the lips. Pretty full bodied. Finishes spicy dry, with a fruity, boozy warmth.

10.6% barley wine. Came with free cake. Which had a tangy orange flavour. Tap at Bottle Shop London. Semi clear russet. Thin beige head. Sweet barley wine aroma. Toffee. Malty smooth flavour. Some red fruit. I mean totally gorgeous. Strawberry jam. Spicy strawberry jam. Lovely. Good biting spice on the finish. Lovely barley wine. Hops on finish too so dryness.

Lightly hazy red - amber beer, small cream colour head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate. Fine carbonation. Rich malts, a little spicy with unsweet toffee and a little cream. Hops are spicy bitter with a little ripe orange. Smooth bitter finish. Rich and tasty, a little more hop would not have gone amiss though.

Bottle from Good Taste, Crystal Palace. It pours deep red-brown with a large beige head. The nose is earthy, brown bread, toasty brown sugar, toffee, sherbet, candied peel and spice, leather and bubblegum. The taste is smooth, rich, bitter-sweet, fruit loaf, brown bread, toast, mint humbugs, spice, earth, dried fruits, warming alcohol with a lingering bitter finish. Full body, fine carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Smooth and quaffable. I particularly like the aroma. Nice stuff.

Keg at the bottle shop bermondsey. Mid copper / brown coloured pour with a lasting cream coloured head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, little spicy note, little orange note. Flavour is composed of caramel, woody bourbon, vanilla, very smooth, hides the abv very well. Palate is medium full body, moderate carbonation and silky smooth. Very tasty beer.
