33cl as ’Oud Bruin’, batch# 926, BB 19/02/2020.

Mer interessant enn egentlig god.

On tap at Grünerløkka mat- of mikrobryggfestival. Almost clear deep amber with a lasting tanned head. Fairly malty aroma with caramel, sour berries, dark dried fruits, hints of wood, yeast and spices. Moderate to medium sweet with nice acidic notes. Quite tasty.

Draft. A deep red beer with a huge tan head. The aroma has notes of wood, brettanomyces, and red berries. The flavor is malt, dusty hops, red berries, malt, and wood, leading to a lightly tart finish.

At taphouse Clear red brown small offwhite to brown head. Dark dried fruity aroma also malts and wood and Rd berries. Slightly wild. Very nice mix. Flavor is caramelly bitter herbal and bitter fruit peel on a background of buttery caramel. Much less interesting than aroma.

Re-rated from well stored bottle (backlog February 2017) A lot of things seem to have happened here. Bottle version was a lovely clear brown body with a dense, mocha latte kind of tan head. Aroma is smooth and malty with dry fruit, wood and caramel. Flavor goes in the same direction, but has become extremely smooth and nice with just enough acidity to balance the sweetness to perfection. A wonderful beer it is, hope I have a few more of this left somewhere. 7-3-7-3-13 Sample from cask @ Kristiansand ølfestival. Murky brown/amber with a small tan head. Quite light in aroma, malt, dry fruit, wood and hint of Brett. Flavor is rather light as well, mild, soft malt, caramel, fruity, oak, slightly acidic and moderate in bitterness. Almost dead in carbonation. Medium body and pleasant, but not very strong aftertaste. Nice enough but a feels a bit anonymous for a beer from Nøgne.
