Part of the Calambic series, Central Valley Breakfast Sour is aged in used wine barrels for one year with the finest fruit from the Central Valley of California. It is a bright and beautiful golden sour with an abundance of fresh pressed white grapefruit juice. The tart beginnings are rounded by the lusciousness from the pears and the delicate, exotic perfume of the lychee fruit. A pleasurable ale to enjoy with brunch or anytime of the day.

12oz bottle pours a translucent gold with some cloudy, white head. Nose has grapefruit, yogurt, tart white grape, lemon, yogurt. Flavor is very lemony, grapefruit, oily lemon verbena. Finishes tart. Where’s the promised lychee?

THANKS for sharing RB people! Sampled draft @ Beer Temple during Carnivale Brettanomyces 2016! Hazy citrus, little white head. Nose is sour apricot, fizzy, sour lemon, sour lemonade. Taste is weird vanilla, sugar, candy mixed with sour apricot, puckering, leading into a quite sour, puckering, low vinegar finish, big sour white wine. Body is vinegar, puckering, quite sour. Bit too sour, pucering, contradictory elements but decent.

On tap at Carnivale Brettanomyces ’16. At Beer Temple. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of lemons, quite tart, some grapefruit peel, white berries. Flavour is full on sour, lemons, but I somehow seem to like it. Light bodied.
