The name squeal pig comes from an old Herefordshire term used in taverns, they requested a pint of squeal pig.
The legend is that "squeal pig" was the sound made after drinking it. Fear not, this is not a three man drink, just a name to remember the good old years of old.

Box @ Victoria Tap, Manchester. Hazy dishwater-gold in colour. Sweetened dry pear with an appealing taste in this respect. Fair aroma.

Box @ Lilleys Cider, Frome. Misty pale golden yellow. Acetic barrel aroma. Taste presents an immediate strong acidity, sweet caramel with all kinds of wild organisms coming out to play.. oof!

Bag in box Beer in Hand Hereford. A light hazed greenish yellow coloured pour with no head. Aroma is funk, bile, sicky, pepper, szechwan pepper. Super weird. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, bruised pear, spicy, peppery, sicky. Black pepper, pear, sweet apple. Palate is a bit pithy, moderate carbonation. Weird one.

Bag in a box At Merton Winter Beer Festival 2018. Haze gold pink colour no head. Solid perry aroma. Some good dryness on the finish .some fleshy pear flavour and pear skin. Properly good perry. Some sweetness. But the finish is a good sour blend . Definitely good. I loved it.

Bladder bag, I presume, at Bir & Fud 23/09/16. Golden yellow with a decent off White head. Nose is apple orchard, straw, farmy, light pear drop. Taste comprises bitter sweet pear, light smoke, earthy apple skin, straw, light funkdom. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying close. Decent enough Perry ... not overly sweet .... balance is good.

568ml bottle. Pours a watery yellow colour, no head and aroma of woody pear, leather. Taste is sweet sugary pear with woody oaky & light barnyard notes. Smooth syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, some lingering sweetness but fairly clean finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at Magpie & Crown, London. Pours a hazy, grapefruit pink with a faint cream. Tangy, almost sour pear nose. Flavor is medium to big sweet, fairly tangy with lots of residual, straight sugar and ripe pears. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet, sticky finish with plenty more tangy pear and heavy sugars. It’s a very sweet perry, but this tangy, borderline sour edge cuts into it just barely enough to make it more palatable. This beverage is quite full of character. I like it.
