Crosse Keys Spoons. Cask. Clear deep brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and dry with mild fine carbonation. The malts have a touch of dark character, whispers of coffee and roast. Nice fruits og the back end, slightly dark and tangy. Whisper of ester. Light dry finish. Tasty.

Cask at the George, Croydon. It pours darkest brown with minimal beige head. The nose is dark chocolate, wood, toast, earth and a touch of fudge. The taste is toasty, wood, earth, cocoa, mild acidity and generic dark fruits with a dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. A bit flat to be honest. Dull stuff.

Cask @ Percy Shaw, Halifax. Brown with a small off-white head. Has a good balance between roasted malts and spices, with the latter aspect more evident in its nose and fairly appealing for it.

Cask at Isaac Wilson JDW Middlesbrough. Deep brown reddish tinged colour, foamy biege head and aroma of roast malt, chocolate. Taste is sweet malty with coffee, biscuit, chocolate, light bitter and a sourish dark fruit note. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, roasted bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at The William Jolle (W’Spoons), Northwood Hills. A dark chestnut brown coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Roasty, malty aroma. Tastes malty, some chocolate, caramel, nutty and quite rich. Really nice effort.

Cask at the Crosse keys Jdw. Rich red brown colour with a lasting cream head. Aroma is subdued nutty brown malts, with a touch of sour raspberry. Flavour is clean toasty nutty malt, clean ferment with some berry hops. Nice slightly sharp palate. Good work.

Cask at Crosse Keys, JDW - London. Pours clear, rich brown with a foamy, tan head. Robust aroma, some good roast, lightly charred malts, cocoa. Light to medium sweet flavor with coffee undertones, burnt toast, baking cocoa, charred meat, scorched earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; decent carbonation. Well balanced to finish with more burnt toast, dry cocoa and coffee grounds. Solid effort.
