(21/05/2011) 2010 Vintage bottle@Kulminator: Batch III (163 IBU), amber with big white head that spilled all over the counter, for someone like me who isn’t used to IIPA’s the bitterness is almost insane, full on bitterness that destroys almost all everything else, taste is like eating a field op hops, citrus, lemon, grapefruit & pine hops, make that also a pine field, followed by spices, also the kind of taste you get if you eat too much pineapple, this is what probably 1 yr old, not getting any of the talk here about how the bitterness is balanced or feels way less than it is, it is also caramel sweet to top it off // (09/05/2012) sampled different version, not sure if batch I or II, some strawberry on the nose & serious touch sweet malt body, hops are quite muted out in here, liked this version more ////// (15/11/2013) Had this one again at the brewery. Completely different beer now making my previous reviews irrelevant. Didn’t take a notes so I am not re-rating this one but I should score it higher. It is totally in Struise style now, huge malt-base, almost reminiscent of a BW with some hops on top, light hops, very fruity with a sweet touch & the punishing bitterness no longer exist there. Pretty enjoyable, should be rated properly probably some day. //////// Had some more, def. not a 3.4 a beer now, not stellar but def. solid. Going to give it 3.4 -> 4 for now.

Om detta är en DIPA fanns det väldigt lite humle kvar. Jag skulle snarare kalla det en barley wine eller Bel strong ale. Massor av torkad frukt typ päron, mogna äpplen, marsipan och honung. En riktig maltbomb. Men välbalanserad. Massor av jäst i botten.

Batch III, 163 IBU. Hazy orange/amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, very pleasant aromatic hoppy nose. Moderate malty, agrumey hoppy and caramel with notes of yeast and alcohol. Slight hint of tangerine in rather long-lasting hoppy finish. Enjoyable brew.
