With a beer as bold and robust as Stone Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout, it’s not easy to build another level of flavor. That’s why we use hundreds of pounds of espresso beans to give Stone Espresso Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout an added layer of rich complexity. The coffee flavors meld beautifully with the roasty bitterness of the dark malts for an intense complement of flavors, while staying true to the essence of this classic, historical style.

Canned. Poured dark obviously. Coffee and deep malts. A fine version of a very good beer.

Black with a creamy, light brown head that lingers. Aroma full of burnt grains and coffee, accompanied by a vinous fruitiness. Taste is roasted bitter the whole way through with lingering cafe mocha at the end. Robust and pleasant.

Can, 10.6%. Cocoa, chocolate aroma, more than coffee to me - perhaps a chili-like fruitiness and a little paper. Black colour. Big stable creamy dark brown head. The flavour is sweet with chocolate bitterness and coffee flavour. High bitterness, but the sweetness balances it out. Very late freshly ground coffee notes.

Can. Pours cloudy very dark brown with stable tan head. Clear aroma of coffee, with touches of hops and yeast. Bitter flavour of roast and coffee, with notes of hops and mild touches of yeast and liquorice hints of malt. Bitter, roasty aftertaste with coffeelike flavour. Quite nice.

Can picked up from Biervana München. Had this at home Wednesday 9th December 2020 listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music, we had a Sausage Casserole for tea. Pours pitch black with a mid sized beige head. Like the standard version which I had last year in the UK at Pickett's Lock campsite Edmonton (north London) just a week or two before moving to Germany this is so, so good. It would be great to try them alongside each other as this also has coffee and lots of it on the nose, a little fudge also and chocolate cake. Super smooth and thick mouthful, super smooth and super indulgent, this really tastes top draw. Lots of coffee, a lovely roastiness, fantastic stout and a great find.

Can, 0.355l. Black pour, one finger creamy brown head. Excellent retention, long lasting head, thick lacing on the glass as it goes down. Nice on the nose, sweet and malty, figs, toasted caramel and latte notes. Full body, soft to medium carbonation. Thick and creamy texture, soft mouthfeel, chewy, really nice. Taste is more on the swet side balanced with subtle roasty bitterness. Aroma of caramel, toffee, molasses. Latte, figs, cocoa powder. Licorice, nutty. Mild alcohol presence, subtle, nicely warming. Sticky. Long lasting finish, dry, roasty, subtle latte notes. Good one.
